On Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the City of Stanton’s groundbreaking ceremony for the Norm Ross Sports Park.
�The Norm Ross Sports Park will be a new 4-acre park where Stanton residents can enjoy a baseball field, a multi-purpose sports court, a community garden, and more. The park is expected to open in the summer of 2027.
�I contributed $250,000 from my office’s discretionary funds to support the completion of this project, which will include athletic field improvements and evening lighting for safety.

The cycling classes offer a chance to sweat, make friends, and get energized for the day ahead. Team Chaffee had a blast at the Sunset Concert Series hosted by OC Parks last Thursday.
The Mariachi Divas played a lively set that got attendees to their feet to dance.

Last Wednesday, I hosted our annual Back-to-School Giveaway, donating 1,500 backpacks and school supplies to School Districts within my Supervisorial District.
Thank you to First 5 OC, OCTA, OC Libraries, OC Health Care Agency, OIRA, OC Clerk Recorder, OC Waste & Recycling, OC Registrar of Voters for generously donating giveaway items for kids and families to enjoy.
We also developed a Resource Guide for District Four Families and Children to include in each backpack, which included food, financial, employment, immigration, and education assistance information and more. You can find our Resource Guide at bos4.oc.gov/resourceguide, also available in Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese and Traditional Chinese.

Today at the Board of Supervisors meeting, we recognized July 19-25, 2026 as Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week.
Our Orange County Probation Department assists individuals in our justice system while maintaining the security and productivity of our community. Through the OC Cares 2025 vision, Probation has invested in new facilities, implemented new policies that focus on recidivism, and improved outcomes.
I recently had the pleasure of joining Probation to celebrate a milestone for one of their new projects, Youth Transitional Center. I was able to sign the “topping off” beam before the finish the final project.

Students spent their summer learning how to budget, invest, and build financial confidence. One student received a $500 grant at the end of the course. 💵
